FREE EBOOK - THE NIGHT

I hope this update finds everyone well in these intense days of lockdown. I know some people are finding it easier than others, and my heart goes out to anyone stuck at home, facing the days alone. My husband is an essential worker and continues to go to work, so I’m on my own for eight hours each day, but that’s nothing when I know he’s coming home each night and we can enjoy dinner and watching a bit of TV together. For anyone on their own, stay strong.

I enjoy being by myself and working on my books, but even I find it lonely at times. I’ve found the best way to break up the monotony of the day is to get out of the house and go for a walk. In the UK we’re (currently) allowed to take one hour of outside exercise, as long as we maintain social distancing measures. That hour is the highlight of my day and had definitely kept me on an even keel. Everyone copes in their own way and people need to do what works for them.

Anyway, I’ve used some of my free time to finally put together a mailing list. Once up and running I’ll send occasional emails with book notifications, special offers and updates. In the meantime for anyone signing up, I’m giving away a free short story.

Sleep is the last thing on their minds.

When lawyer Travis Milton joins a group of his colleagues to celebrate the birthday of a senior partner, things couldn’t go much worse. The older men’s idea of a good time is to act like drunken frat boys cruising from casino to strip clubs. Their bad behaviour gets them through out of one place after another. Travis is ready to cut them loose when they end up at Rubens, a high class bar in a luxury sky scraper, where he meets Oscar, a harassed but very sexy waiter.

Oscar is counting the minutes until the end of his shift, but when the hot young lawyer intervenes in a conflict, his night takes a turn for the better.

Four books. Four whiskey-fueled romances.

Dick: Nothing like this has ever happened to me before. It's a fluke. Too much whiskey. Believe me when I say, it will NEVER happen again.

I’m trying not to take it personally. Sh*t happens. It’s not a reflection on me. He claims it was too much whiskey. A one time occurrence. And I believe him.

But then why the hell does it happen a second time?

Chick: Nothing like this has ever happened to me before. It's a fluke. Too much whiskey. Believe me when I say, it will NEVER happen again.

I’m trying not to take it personally. Sh*t happens. It was a blind date. She drank too much whiskey. I hope it wasn’t a reflection on me.

Okay, so the first date didn't work out. But what happens when the second one doesn’t either?

Trick: Everything usually goes my way. Life’s good. But after a bad breakup, a few problems emerge that I need help fixing.

He has problems all right. Sure, I’ll help. Just because I’m unlucky in love doesn’t mean the next girl should be too.

But maybe those problems aren’t so bad after all?

Flick: Everything usually goes my way. Life’s good. But after a bad breakup, a big secret unfolds that no one can ever know.

She has a secret all right. Sure, I’ll keep it. Just because we can’t tell anyone doesn’t mean we can't make it work.

But maybe some secrets do need to come out?

*F/F Romance

About the Author

Hi, I’m Ryan Ringbloom, a Jersey girl who doesn’t write Alphas. I couldn’t if I tried. Social Media stresses me the frick out, yet I can’t seem to walk away from it. I love to binge watch TV. I think cats are awesome. I’m obsessed with coffee and Fireball. But never together. I am counting down the days until self-driving cars are the norm. And if there is ever a zombie apocalypse, I won’t even try to run. I will let the first one I see eat my brain and get it over with.

BACK TO WORK

I apologise for this overdue update but the last three weeks have been mega-hectic. It started well enough with a fabulous 7 night cruise around the Scottish coast but even since we got back it’s been crazy. We’re also in the middle of home renovations and I totally underestimated how disruptive that can be. I thought I’d be able to work through the chaos, dust, noise, mess, boxes, but no, it’s been impossible. Last weekend I tried escaping to some local coffee shops and pubs, but this being the summer holidays they were all packed with kids and families, and once again it was impossible to work. So this is the first time I’ve turned my laptop on in three weeks.
Anyway, the cruise was wonderful. We joined the ship MS Magellan in Liverpool before sailing north, visiting Greenock, Tobermorey, Orkney and Torshavn, before coming back down the east of Scotland via Shetland and Dundee to end up in Newcastle. It was a great week and we saw some beautiful places. The weather was also on our side for the first four days. It took a turn for the worse at the end of the week with high winds and rough seas, but thankfully nothing as bad as the storm in Anthem of the Sea.

Anthem of the Sea - the perfect cruise read.
A beautiful evening leaving Greenock
Tobermorey harbour.
Blue skies and blue sea - perfection.

Not even the weather can put me off cruising. I love every part of the experience. The ship, the fresh sea air, meeting new people, great food, great drinks, the entertainment – it can’t be beaten. It’s so more relaxed and interesting than spending a few hours squashed in a plane followed by a couple of weeks by the beach or a pool.

But I’m back at work now and need to get moving on Anthem 3. The third book is half way through but I’d like to get the first draft done by the end of September. Fingers crossed.
Last weekend Diverse reader featured me on their Saturday Author Spotlight.  Check out the interview. There may still be time to enter the giveaway to win a signed copy of Anthem of the Sea and an ebook bundle of my other books.
